Coblation Tonsillectomy

Coblation tonsillectomies, a gentle alternative for removing tonsils that reduces pain and recovery time up to 70 percent, are now available with us. Unlike harsh traditional tonsillectomy procedures, coblation combines gentle radio frequency energy with natural saline to quickly remove tonsils. The newer procedure results in less pain after surgery and quicker recoveries. In many cases, children who have the procedures on Friday are back to school on Monday. Cochlear Implants

A cochlear implant is a device that provides direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the inner ear. Children and adults with a severe to profound hearing loss who cannot be helped with hearing aids may be helped with cochlear implants. This type of hearing loss is sensor neural, which means there is damage to the tiny hair cells in the part of the inner ear called the cochlea. Because of this damage, sound cannot reach the auditory nerve. With a cochlear implant, the damaged hair cells are bypassed, and the auditory nerve is stimulated directly. The cochlear implant does not result in “restored” or “cured” hearing. It does, however, allow for the perception of the sensation of sound. For more please visit : Read More

Sinus Surgery

WE prescribe medications (antibiotics, decongestants, nasal steroid sprays, antihistamines) for treating acute sinusitis. There are occasions when We find that the infections are recurrent and/or non-responsive to the medication than surgery to enlarge the openings that drain the sinuses is an option. A clinical history of the patient will be created before any surgery is performed. A careful diagnostic workup is necessary to identify the underlying cause of acute or chronic sinusitis, which is often found in the anterior ethmoid area, where the maxillary and frontal sinuses connect with the nose. This may necessitate a sinus computed tomography (CT) scan (without contrast) and selected blood tests to determine an operative strategy. Note: Sinus X–rays have limited utility in the diagnosis of acute sinusitis and are of no value in the evaluation of chronic sinusitis. For more please visit : Read More
